New wineries at N28!

We’ve kicked off spring not only with a new menu, but also an exciting, refreshed wine by the glass menu featuring batches from wineries that have not yet been featured at N28! Turay, Malatinszky, Brigád. We would like to introduce you to the excellent wines of 3 wineries, because they are all worth mentioning.
The history of the Turay family, who run the Turay Family Winery, dates back to the 17th century. Historical research has revealed that the Turays have been growing grapes for 12 generations. The estate is cultivated according to organic farming methods, with hand-picking and gentle processing to produce a high quality must.

And they create with the philosophy that “the terroir speaks, we listen”. We have had the pleasure of presenting the best of the Turay family’s winery in our previous tastings, and we are proud to feature their wines on our wine menu for permanent tasting.

The name of winemaker Csaba Malatinszky needs no introduction to anyone who is even a little bit familiar with the world of Hungarian wines. Winner of the French Innovation Award for his new red wine-making process, he manages the estate’s professional work on a day-to-day basis. Methode Malatinszky, the new Malatinszky red wine fermentation technology, which has been awarded the Innovation Prize, is the answer to the question of how to ferment red wine in a closed space. The entire cultivation process on the estate is organic, and it was he who pioneered the use of controlled fermentation for red wines in the wine region, with his new ageing room specifically designed for small barrel ageing.

You can taste these great premium wines from the winery even by the glass! Which is a big word, because elsewhere they are only sold by the bottle!

  • Kövesföld 2009 – 97 points
  • Kúria Merlot 2015 – 95 points
  • Kúria Cabernet Franc 2013 – 98 points

The points next to each item are from James Suckling, one of the world’s most famous wine critics.

The history of the Brigád Winery in Mór dates back to 2013, when a couple of enthusiastic young people made their first wine in Mór. Ezerjó, of course. What has happened since then? They started to cultivate more and more land, planting grapes in areas they liked best, learning more and more about new varieties, experimenting constantly in the vineyard and in the cellar. The result speaks for itself, come and taste their standout batches here!
